Last month I participated in Arts Unleashed in Athens GA. I had a See Saw Playscape installation at the Michael Bro's building in downtown. People were invited to interact and ride the See Saw which was super fun. It was a surprise for many who worked in the building - art appearing in unexpected places. Micki and I were Monitors.
Thanks to Stuart Miller and the Leisure Services for this program - I hope they do it again next year!
Here it is up close and personal, our CLR for the city of Athens !! Look for them April 10th.

Hi all - I am just back from an amazing week as the artist in residence at the Center of Creative Arts in St. Louis. I taught a wonderful and talented group of student/artists from University City High School. We made artboard/skateboard sculptures. They exhibited with me at COCA as well. My show ay COCA is just beautiful! I have a great group of Play Ground Monitors!
These are from the Cine show. It's really hard to see them here, so i've posted them on my personal blog where you can get info and see them up close.
The members of ADD have art hanging in the hallway and the entrance to Cine in downtown Athens. The show will be up through Feb., and possibly March. No exact date yet for the end of the show.
Here are some lovely pictures forwarded to me from Valerie Aldridge, Pres. of AAAC - Thanks Valerie!
This was the ribbon cutting ceremony. ADD had the wonderful t-shirts on for the bus ride, designed by ADD member Michael Lachowski. With us were Valerie, Chris Evans, AAAC, Heidi Davidson, our Mayor and others. Also, thank you for the Bus Ride, Athens Transit - it was the coolest bus ride ever!

Well all, our most beautiful Bus Shelter positioned on West Broad here in Athens, is finished and a perfect Blazberry color. The gentlemen at Classic Powder and Ceramic, our local powder coaters, worked magic and restored our shelter to it's current and forever glistening purple/pink. Thank you to Curtis and Eli et all at Classic.
After almost two years in the work, this project is a fine representation of ADD's first step out as a collaborative team. I am very proud of the sculpture, design and function in the community.
OMG - My adorable painter husband, Jim Barsness and I are the cover of Athens Magazine this Jan and Feb 2008 - what a way to start off the NY! We are sitting on my Kissing Jim Conversation Rocker. This is a love seat for two inspired by a victorian courting chair, actually one specifically I saw in Merida Mexico in a park made of cement.
The article is lovely and talks about two people working in creative fields written by Melissa Link. The cover photo was taken by Dennis McDaniel. My Recess See Saw is pictured as well and two gorgeous details of Jim's paintings.
